Maya Milestones

It's been awhile since I've posted anything about Maya's developmental stages. She will be 9 months old next Monday! She has been crawling (that is, dragging 'commando' style across the floor) for almost 2 months now, and has also recently started to pull herself up on low boxes, chair legs etc, and can stand for minutes on end (supported). Maya is also enjoying people (especially other children) in a whole new way, and is becoming a much more social and happy little being. The thing that makes her laugh the most is when we eat grapes off the vine and spit out the seeds - for some reason, the sound is hilarious to the little munchkin. A few days ago Noah said she was laughing for about 15 minutes each time a grape was eaten. So, it is fun to be around her at the moment.

We are wondering if Maya will start to walk soon - perhaps while we are on the plane?!?! Noah, Maya and I are heading to New Zealand for 2 weeks on Sunday, for my work. We are back for a month and then off again to the USA for 5 weeks in April, where Maya will get to meet her Auntie Tammy, Uncle Kim, Cousin Rashaan, and Grandma Chris and Papa Beto. I am so excited for her to meet my family!!

Other news from the farm...7 new piglets...very cute! And the house IS moving along, slowly but surely. We finished the paving of all the verandahs yesterday (thanks to Mieke, Hans, Tess and Yarrow for your help this past weekend!).

Off to soothe the babe now..she is feeling a bit grumpy after her second round of immunisation shots today. Never a fun experience, but I was much better this time around (not that I was the one having the shots, mind you!). Maya is ok, but seems somewhat unsettled this evening. Poor thing - one jab in each leg, at the same time :(

This latest photo is of Maya's new fave activity - splashing in a bucket of water with her Daddy, on a hot day.

Very cute! She'll be walking soon.

Fresh pork chops for Granpa Royce next trip to Australia. Baby piggies are very cute but they grow up into litttle choplets.

This "Dadd" comments more about the pork chops than about his granddaughter!
