New Hat

This colourful beanie was made especially for Maya by a friend's sister, who has just been at a hat-making workshop in Alice Springs (Maya's head had been measured in advance!).

Hard to believe that Maya will be 12 weeks old this coming Friday. Last night she had a breakthrough as far as night-sleeping is concerned; she slept from 9.30pm to 4.30am without waking for a feed!! This may be a one-off, but I'm hoping it's not and will continue for a little while at least. Of course, I still managed to wake every 3 hours, out of habit, but somehow feel more rested today than I've felt in months.

We have also resumed work on our rammed earth house again, after quite a long break. While the walls and roof are done, there is still a lot to do, so we keep chipping away at it during the afternoons. We bring Maya's bouncing chair up there and she coos away happily or naps while we work - I think she likes her new home. We are hoping to move up the top of the hill sometime this year!

3 months old! Wow!

She looks cute in that beanie. I think she likes it.

The bouncy chair might be the one I mailed you from Hawaii.

Glad she seems to want to sleep longer.

Each day she grows I see in her eyes Uncle Garth staring right out at me. Very uncanny for me. She has lovey eyes.

Erica & the family
Funny how these things work - eh! Was in the 'new' u-beaut improved and updated SCU web site, went to the news items, thought Samia's blog things was worth a squizz(S: great blog and hope US is treating you well) and then saw your post to her and thought: say hi to Erica and wish her. Maya and Noah all the best from down South in Sydney - more fun than just an email - 'cept there's no spell checker here :)
Hope all going well - my new involvement with little people is grandfather from afar - yes my 'boy' is now 6weeks old, got the first smiley photo (could've been wind, mind you and it was really a grimmace!) a few days ago: not sure what the go is for feeling like a Grandparent - it's taken so long to get to here, that it's really loike Ive got another child!!
Enough already: have a fab time, you and N, getting to know your new friend.
