Back to Work for Mum...
I've realised that it has been a month since I last posted! Many things have happened during that time. All 4 of Maya's middle molars did push their way through since the last blog - and boy was it a hard one for all of us. She started waking up every 1-2 hours at night screaming, crying during the day, fever, etc. I had no idea that was coming. At it didn't help that I decided to night wean Maya around the same time, as I couldn't handle the night feeding any more. The good news is, the night weaning 'programme' work, thanks to an American website I found by a Dr Jay Gordon - who is one of the few in the medical establishment that actually condones co-sleeping (baby sleeping with parents) AND had a method for how to night wean babies without having to put them in another room (not an option for us!), put them in a cot, or drug them (just kidding). Won't go into the details, but it WORKED! She sleeps pretty much from 8pm through to 3 or 4am, when I give in and feed her. Sometimes she wakes briefly around 11 or 12pm, but she fusses briefly and goes back to sleep. Until the next teeth come in, I suppose....The other news is I have gone back to work at the university, 4 days a week. Dad is taking care of Maya 3 days a week at home, and they are having a good time together. Mum is enjoying her time 'away', back at the office. On the other days, I am letting Noah write his PhD, and I take Maya out to baby group etc. And the house-building still seems to fit in around this arrangment, though it is very bit by bit.
